2. You can get into trouble if you don’t have a privacy policy on your website.

3. Having a privacy policy is good for business as it gives you legitimacy.  

General Outline of the Workshop:

In this session you will learn:

  • When a privacy policy is required
  • The essential components of a privacy policy
  • How to prepare your business' privacy policy

Anticipate and take steps to prevent legal issues that may arise from a privacy complaint. 

After attending this workshop and the 1-hour followup coaching session, you will be able to complete or update your privacy policy for your website.

Bio: Hi, I am Brent Parker, I help organizations and professionals navigate their legal needs related to privacy, information security and business in British Columbia. I am based in Kelowna and my experience as a lawyer is complemented by over twelve years of experience in project and risk management, mainly in the health sector. In addition to my legal training, I hold a Masters in Public Health and post-graduate training in data and analytics. I am actively involved in my community and serve on the Interior Health’s Research Ethics Board and the Kelowna General Hospital’s Ethics Committee. I mentor medical and other undergraduate students in activities related to innovation and improvement in healthcare. Outside of the office you will find me on the ski hill, on my bike, or spending time with the family.

Cancellation Policy 

The cancellation policy for this training session:

  • Full refund 14 days or more before the scheduled training session
  • 50% refund for cancellations 2-13 days before the scheduled training session
  • No refund within one day of the scheduled training session.
  • A 50% refund may be issued for cancellations within one day of the scheduled training session ID due to an unexpected illness. 

However, the training session will be considered attended if the recording and/or documents are downloaded, a refund will not be issued.
